2 Week Stats

Claire had her first scheduled doctors appointment today. If she had a baseball card, here's what would be on the back in the stats column:
  • Weight: 8lbs. 7 ozs (50th percentile)
  • Height: 20.25" (40th percentile)
At the bottom of baseball cards there used to be a "fun fact" about the player (at least the Topps ones) so what is Claire's latest "fun fact"? Umm...

"Claire enjoys looking around the room with her big eyes and pooping on her mother while getting changed."

Pic Fix

To everybody who wants pictures, here is your fix:

Not much of a fix -- one picture -- but it's better than nothing, right? To all of the picture hounds, Claire's Aunt KJ is in town, which generally means pictures get taken. We will try to throw a handful up here at once in the next couple days.

Bless You

Could be the shortest video on YouTube. It's a sneeze. She really let's em loose when she has one. So does her dad, but she is quite a bit cuter while she does it...

Visitors

Claire has only been around for a week and half, and has already met a lot of people.

Outside of all of the family she's seen multiple times (Grandmas, Grandpas, Great-Grandmas, Great Grandpas, Great Aunts, Aunts, Uncles) but she had a lot of her new friends stop by too: Crooks, Luke, Lori, Lance, Nick, Lisa, Kyle, Sadie, Ben, Mandy, Brett, Kasey, Jason, Amie, Jill, Josie, Kristy, Eric, & even Ben & Angie came all the way from South Carolina to see her.

That is a ton of visitors in only a short time, but we hope that even more people will stop in and visit her this summer. She loves to be held, and can't wait to meet more of her family and more new friends!

Here's a pic to tide you over. She is deep in thought, no doubt trying to remember everyone's names that she just met...

Family time

Over the weekend Claire got to meet her Uncle Eric for the first time, and was amazed by his beard and cool hat. Two things she hadn't seen yet in her short little life. I suppose you "learn something new every day".

Glo Worm

We finally got to bring baby Claire home Friday night, we left the hospital just before 6 PM that night, after arriving at 7PM Monday... So that means we were at Mercy for 95 hours I believe? An interesting way to spend a week.

Anyways, this Jaundice thing has carried over into the home. No tanning bed here, instead we have a "Phototherapy blanket" that emits a bright green light. We are supposed to have it wrapped around her back as often as possible. She looks like a little green Glow Worm:

We have been getting her "bilirubin levels" checked daily be a nurse since we left. Things have dropped off considerably which is great, and barring the results of one more test.. she should be free and clear of her blanket from now on.

** UPDATE ** Everything is all clear, no more tanning bed, no more bili blanket, no more waking her up to make her eat, no more talk about Jaundice!

Room 2030 - Tanning Salon?

It is now Friday morning and we are still at the hospital (remember we arrived here Monday night) and Claire is now in a tanning bed!

She has a touch of what is called "Jaundice". Not a big deal, it is fairly common in newborns, and at noon today the doc will come in and check her out, then a different doc will come in and check her mother out, and then they will (hopefully) release us!

Fine tuning this thing

Well, we had some problems getting "guest comments" to work on this site, and I think it has now been fixed...

I think it used to make you register and stuff just to leave a comment or say hello. Now you should be able to do it anonymously. Problem should be solved, so comment away! We have our camera here at the hospital but our usb cable for it is at home. After they let us out of here we will try to put some more pics up!

Mercy Photos

Some gal came around to our room and snapped some pics of baby Claire earlier today.

Follow the the link to check em out. We are not sure how long it will be up there, after so long it has to expire, doesn't it?

Slide show a la Claire

Auntie KJ put together a slide show from Claire's first minutes with some of the family.

Wow. She hadn't been alive for more than 4-5 hours and she had all of those pics taken... Awesome.

Claire TV

Below is the first installment of Claire TV (CTV).

There will be more to come once we actually get to go home from the hospital. I'm still not sure if I will be uploading things through Blogger or through YouTube like I have done so far.

They are both easy, but YouTube seems to have a greater chance of strangers watching our stuff, which is not the goal here. The goal is for us to be able to avoid having to send out an email everytime we want family/friends to see new pics. But you can watch YouTube on your iPhone...

Claire Judene!

Claire Judene Weiner was born Tuesday, July 14th at 4:19 pm, weighing in at 7 lbs. 14 oz, measuring 20 inches long... (Born on 07/14 weighing 7 - 14)

Andrea started getting contractions at work Monday morning at 7 AM, they became regular around 2 PM, we were in the hospital around 7 PM, she got to start pushing around 2 PM the next day, and after an emergency c section 2 hours later, we were blessed with this beautiful girl:

(There will be more and better pictures to come, all we are armed with for photos right now is an iPhone)
